BOAT - Building Operative Actions for sustainable Tourism

Thematic objective: A.1 Développement des entreprises et des PME
الأولوية: Priorité A.1.3 Encourager les initiatives et actions en matière de tourisme durable visant à la diversification dans de nouveaux segments et niches
Brief description of the project: The Mediterranean region is a relevant tourist destination although the supply is still concentrated on notable heritage sites and sea location. The ENI-CBC program aims at re-launching and repositioning the Mediterranean supply through the diversification of the sector into new segments and niches. To reach these targets, BOAT will experiment new sustainable actions to couple coastal zones management with inland protected areas exploitation, reducing the seasonality of the tourism flows. Transnational and local cooperation will support the development of new tourism chains through the involvement of the private sector, public actors and local communities. This Private Public People Partnership (PPPPs) delivered through Living Labs approach with relevant stakeholders will favour the development of operative tools to increase economic opportunities and jobs in the tourism sector, targeting the reduction of unemployment and of informal economies.
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: The overall objective of the proposed project is to enhance the exploitation of sensitive cultural/environmental destinations through an integration of coastal zones and inland area values balancing the tourism pressure on socio-environmental territorial ecosystems. Using PPPPs and ICT tools to spread connections among different actors, BOAT expects to demonstrate advances in new entrepreneurship, in a framework of sustainable and integrated development policies.
Résultats attendus: BOAT expects to improve the tourism supply systems in the weaker-inner areas of the ENI-CBC area promoting a stronger coastal-inland relationship. The development of innovative tourism chains and initiatives through PPPPs will be focused on the co-design with a bottom-up approach of new products in off season, especially in cultural, historic and ecotourism niches. BOAT supports Cluster strategy, connecting the innovative tourism chains design with implementation of ROP 2014-2020.
