Ecological restoration and conservation of forest stands: the ECOPLANTMED project organises information day in Tunisia

The National Research Institute for Rural Engineering, Water and Forestry, ECOPLANTMED project partner in Tunisia, is organizing an information day on 6 May 2015 at the "Cité des Sciences" of Tunis. The theme of the event is "Ecological restoration and conservation of forest stands in Tunisia".

The event aims to bring together the different actors of the forestry sector (forest communities, engineers, government officials and scientists) to review and share experiences on ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation.

ECOPLANTMED at a glance

The ECOPLANTMED project "ECOlogical use of native PLANTs for environmental restoration and sustainable development in the MEDiterranean region" is a joint Mediterranean initiative based on the collaboration among seed banks, research institutes and institutions dealing with native plant conservation and management.

The project aims to contribute to halting the loss of biodiversity and to promote a sustainable development model in the Mediterranean region by enhancing the conservation of native plants and promoting their use in habitat restoration and the plant production sector.
