Energy efficiency: the FOSTEr in MED project inaugurates first of five info points on solar innovative technologies

Informing citizens and businesses from the Barcelona area about innovative solar energy solutions and technologies: this is the objective of the FOSTEr in MED info point inaugurated on February, 10th.

The info point, established at the premises of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Avenida Diagonal, 462), will be in place until June 2016.

On the one hand, it will promote the activities and results of the FOSTEr in MED project with citizens, raising their awareness about the economic and environmental benefits of solar energy. On the other hand, the info point aims to become a one stop shop for the private sector operators, mainly SMEs, which will find at the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce a wide range of technical material and support related to innovative technologies in solar energy.

"Info points have been designed as instruments for optimizing the project’s communication. They will be a way to disseminate the results achieved throughout the project and at the same time, to identify interested stakeholders," said Nicola Nieddu, the coordinator of the FOSTEr in MED project.

Five other info points will be soon operational in Spain, Italy, Egypt and Lebanon.

FOSTEr in MED in brief

Highlighting the variety of solar technologies that can be integrated in building design is central to FOSTEr in MED project. With 5 buildings to host innovative solar systems in Egypt, Lebanon, Italy, Tunisia and Jordan as well as specific guidelines for practitioners of the sector, FOSTEr in MED hopes that more roofs, façades and skylights will generate electricity in the future.
