FISHINMED at a glance

Whilst fishing is considered as a strategic sector in the Mediterranean area in terms of economic growth and employment, the development of small fishing communities is still hampered by low profitability and competiveness as well as the lack of an appropriate common strategy at Mediterranean level. In this framework, FISHINMED project aims to protect and enhance small fishing communities, thus increasing employment opportunities as well as preventing the uncontrolled exploitation of sea resources.

FISHINMED is funded under the first standard call and coordinated by the Apulia Region (Italy). Its total budget is € 1.472.270 of which € 1.325.043 as Programme grant (90%).
