The "Green Med Initiative" (GMI) strategic project has issued a call for tenders for the supply and delivery of around 180 Reverse Vending Machines, related online management software and e-Platform as well as spare parts and consumables. According to the notice available in the EU Tenders Electronic Daily, the time limit for receipt of tenders is 15 April 2014.

The installation of Reverse Vending Machines in schools and universities of the Mediterranean area is one of the core activities of GMI project in order to foster recycling practices among young people. These machines will be used to collect empty PET bottles and aluminum cans and in return recyclers will get points to redeem online. Thanks to the management software and e-Platform, users of Reverse Vending Machines will be able to share their recycling activities on social media.
