From healthy food to shared culture: the MedDiet project to discuss the future of the Mediterranean Diet during conference at Expo Milano 2015

On 19th of September 2015, the MedDiet project will "feed" the Universal Exhibition of Milano in the framework of a conference to be held at the Orogel Conference Center.

This unique event dedicated to the future of the Mediterranean diet, praised by scientists as one of the healthiest diets in the world, will be contributed by institutional representatives – including Saad Seddik, Tunisian Minister of Agriculture; Maurizio Martina, Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry and Dr. Alain Hakim, Lebanese Minister of Economy and Trade office – nutrition experts and chefs from 6 countries. The Joint Managing Authority of the Programme will also take part in the conference.

In particular, participants will review the activities implemented under the MedDiet project in order to promote and safeguard the authentic Mediterranean Diet with institutions, schools, restaurants and consumers.

And because the event is about food, a cooking show and tasting session (to take place at the Bio-Mediterraneum Cluster) starring chefs from Egypt, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Spain and Tunisia will take place in order to introduce visitors of Expo Milano 2015 to tasty, healthy and traditional dishes which highlight the flavors of the Mediterranean diet.
