Mid-Term Conference to gather ENPI Med community in Rome

More than 550 people have already registered to participate in the Mid-Term Conference which will take place in Rome on 17th and 18th July 2012. Do not hesitate to join this unique event due to gather a wide range of actors from the CBC Med community.

If you couldn’t register online, please be informed that it will be possible to register on-site at the Conference venue (Auditorium della Tecnica CONFINDUSTRIA Headquarter).

The Conference will be opened by Marta Dassù, Italian Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and Giorgio La Spisa, Vice-President of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia. The President of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, Ugo Cappellacci, will conclude the Conference on 17th July.

Speakers representing governments, the European Commission, local authorities, the business sector and the civil society will discuss about the state of the play in the Euro-Mediterranean relations and provide key information on future cooperation perspectives.

Among others, the following personalities will contribute to the debate: Štefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy (trough video message); Mohammad Aburamadan, Minister for Planning and Administrative Development (Palestinian National Authority); Ambassadors from Spain, Israel, Malta and Cyprus; Nader Ghazal, Mayor of Tripoli (Lebanon); Muhannad Hararah, Commissioner of Environment, Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (Jordan). 

Mr. Sergio Cantone, Head of Euronews Eastern Europe office and former correspondent in Brussels, will moderate the two sessions foreseen on 18th July.

In addition, a significant portion of the Conference will be dedicated to analyse the results achieved by the Programme and present some running projects. Potential future cooperation opportunities, including those offered by other initiatives implemented in the Mediterranean region, will also be addressed.

Interpreting will be ensured in the following languages: Arabic, English, French and Italian.

• Location: Auditorium della Tecnica (CONFINDUSTRIA Headquarter), Viale Umberto Tupini 73, Roma. The Conference venue can be easily reached by metro (stop EUR Magliana).
• Time: from 14.00 to 19.00 on Tuesday 17th July (the Conference venue will be open from 11.00 and a light lunch will be offered at 12.30). From 9.30 to 19.00 on Wednesday 18th July.
