NextMed: the Programme organises Conference at the Committee of the Regions on results and perspectives of cross-border cooperation in the Mediterranean

The Joint Managing Authority is organising the ‘NextMed’ Conference on 28th May 2015 at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels. Mr. Johannes Hahn, Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, will be among the speakers of the event.

Further to the conference held in Rome last December, the Bruxelles edition of the ‘NextMed’ event aims to highlight the achievements and future challenges of the ENPI CBC Mediterranean Sea Programme and discuss the role of cross-border cooperation as part of the consultation on the new the European Neighbourhood Policy.

Political and institutional representatives from both sides of the Mediterranean area will contribute to the debate, reflecting on the added value of cross-border cooperation in the overall context of the Euro-Mediterranean relations.

The Conference’s target audience is staff and officials working for EU institutions, Embassies, offices of local and regional administrations in Brussels as well as associations, federations and think tanks which are interested in knowing more about cross-cooperation in the Mediterranean area and coming funding opportunities under the 2014-2020 EU programming period.
