Region of Sardinia confirmed as Joint Managing Authority for ENI CBC Med 2014-2020 Programme

The Joint Programming Committee, made up of delegates of 14 countries, have selected the Autonomous Region of Sardinia as Joint Managing Authority of the future Programme ENI (European Neighbourhood Instrument) CBC Med for the period 2014-2020.

Two applications - Generalitat Valenciana and Autonomous Region of Sardinia - were submitted at the end of January to host the Managing Authority. Representatives of these institutions were invited to present their candidatures on 5th March 2013 in Rome during the second meeting of the Joint Programming Committee.

Ms. Anna Catte, director of the Joint Managing Authority, expressed her satisfaction for the appointment of the Region of Sardinia: "we are honoured about the trust from the participating countries to continue working with them as Managing Authority of the next cross-border Programme for the Mediterranean. We believe that our experience will contribute to address the future challenges and serve the needs of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership".

The Joint Programming is continuing its reflection and work on the definition of the contents of the Joint Operational Programme 2014-2020. The next meeting is planned at the end of April in Brussels.
