Save the date: conference on the enhancement of biowaste and composting under SCOW project

The SCOW strategic project ("Selective collection of the organic waste in tourist areas and valorization in farm composting plants") is organizing an international conference on the topic of biowaste reduction and recycling in touristic and agricultural areas.

Mr. Amir Peretz, Israeli Minister of Environmental Protection, and Mr. Lars Faaborg-Andersen, EU Ambassador to Israel, are among the anticipated speakers.

The event to take place on 12th June 2014 at the Tel-Hai College in Upper Galilee (Israel) will discuss existing best practices and policies as well new technologies in the field of organic waste treatment. The involvement of the community in organic waste separation and opportunities for compost production and use will also be addressed during the conference. Finally, study tours will be offered to participants in order to showcase innovative waste management models in Israel.
