Brief description of the organization: The Trade Business Confederation of Andalusía (CECA: Confederación Empresarial de Comercio de Andalucía) bases its activities on a purpose of interests´ defence of the small and medium Andalusian trade, as well as on the promotion of projects directed to the adjustment of new competitive conditions on current markets. The Trade Business Confederation of Andalusia is a highly valued and organization of recognized prestige, which craves to give a support in an effective way to the trade demands. According to this we centre our interests within such activities lines: Permanent modernization of sector; The incorporation of new technologies of information and communication; The equilibrium between new commerce formats; Bet on quality; Constant training; The advance over trade coherent urbanism and accordance with a city growth; Promotion of the opened commercial centres; Renewal of wholesale food markets. CECA (www.cecacomercio.org) is the main regional public and private institution aimed at providing support for businesses (both for their creation and their best development) in Andalusia – Spain. The institution is focused on three activities mainly, which are: 1. To support business organisations wishing to start a business or develop the existing, thanks to the best practices provided in the region of Andalusia (and Spain). 2. To promote the creation of the CCA figure (Centros Comerciales Abiertos), “Open Business Centers/Malls”, and a specific regional network, with several activities (conferences, workshops, dissemination, etc.). 3. To provide on-line learning and distance learning programmes for businessmen and entrepreneurial people: many programmes are currently available, such as Microsoft Office, Internet, e-commerce, ICTs, e-marketing, New Technologies for managers. Experience in transnational projects: CECA has implemented several transnational projects under European programmes (Interreg IIIA, Equal, Leonardo Da Vinci etc.) or at national/regional levels (awards, campaigns, regional and international conferences, virtual platform, etc.).CECA has leadered or participated in numerous transnational project, for more information please see the website.

Project title: A GATE TO MEDITERANEAN CITIES MARKETING
Brief description of the project: The project aims at creating socioeconomic synergies between the Mediterranean cities by means of establishing an innovative model of city marketing adapted to the needs of the Mediterranean cities. A model of City Marketing shall be created jointly by the partners in which the SMEs can strive and enrich the economic engines of the cities. A joint city Marketing strategy shall be put in place, once a detailed diagnosis of the current situation in all participating cities is conducted and the objectives of the city marketing plan, according to the common potentials discovered, are set. The Mediterranean city, once its image is properly refurbished, shall not only be a place of work for its residents, but also a place of business for SMEs and foreign investors and a place for tourism. The exchange of good practices and experiences among the partner cities shall be key in achieving a joint city marketing strategy for the Mediterranean cities and the results of this project shall continue and develop in time, long after the project has been implemented, by means of a Network of Mediterranean Cities Marketing that shall ensure the continuity and sustainability of the activities of the project. Mediterranean Cities Marketing shall create a platform on a Mediterranean basis for cities to perform better in their trade and tourism activities through the exchange of knowledge and best practice within a city marketing framework.
