Third JMC meeting: 31 projects adopted

During its third meeting held in Valencia on December 13 and 14, the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) has approved a list of 31 projects for a total amount of 42,5 million euros. The proposals, which involve the 14 participating countries, cover the 4 thematic Programme areas (socioeconomic development, environment, transports and culture) and focus on innovative actions in the fields of water management, renewable energies, tourism, culture and mobility.

The list of adopted projects will now be transmitted to the European Commission for inter-services consultation. The negotiation phase with the selected Applicants will start from mid-January.

Besides projects approval, the JMC has discussed a preliminary draft of the Terms of Reference for the call on strategic projects, in view of its final adoption during the next JMC meeting, scheduled at the end of March.

National delegations have also shared a common statement in favour of the increase of the Programme financial resources in the framework of the mid-term review of the European Neighbourhood Policy.
