Green-EneMed- Toward a Smart and Sustainable decentralized green-energy generation systems in Med areas based on innovative Technologies

Thematic objective: A.2 Support to education, research, technological development and innovation
Priority: Priority A.2.1 Support technological transfer and commercialisation of research results, strengthening the linkages between research, industry and other private sector actors
Brief description of the project: Green-EneMed focuses on promoting distributed and decentralized green-energy generation towards sustainability and economic growth. It also aims to increase access to Energy in rural and war-afflicted areas throughout the Mediterranean neighborhood. To this effort, a prequalified number of approximately 30 public from the Municipality of Abasan Al-Kabira will be equipped with on-grid green-energy generation units. An integrated cloud-based platform will measure and analyses the energy consumed and produced at any given period of the day from different sources and loads in the building with near real-time instants. Then all data and measurements will be integrated and analyzed, using specially designed Information Technology tools, algorithms and statistical methods, thus producing the energy consumption and generation profile of every single building. N.B. Green-EneMed will target the same buildings of the ENEREBE project (EU funded/Sudep program: http://www.abasan-enerbe.eu/).
Main objectives – issues to be addressed: Green-EneMed is aiming to replacing fossil -fuels power generation by green energy resources. It also promotes small enterprises to invest in Green energy production, and building up a research station for scientific and educational purposes.
Expected results: Constructed on-grid green-energy generation unit on 30 public buildings generating up to 100% of their energy consumption Generation of jobs during the realization of the action and subsequent increase in workers' know-how. Involvement others scientific and academic communities on the topic of decentralized electricity generation. Organization of conferences, workshops and training sessions for promoting the developed distributed electricity generation with renewable small stations.
