Brief description of the project: The scope of the project is the creation and development of Quarter Networks for composting of urban organic waste, where each waste producer become producer of his own compost, which he can use for free and personal use. In the context of this action user training is provided in the area of ​​waste management through open workshops in the public space. At the same time there is continuous information and education as well the network is continuously expanding to new locations and with new producer-users. The process of aerobic composting is carried out in special wooden bins designed and patented by Rethink. The first such network already operates in the city of Kalamata in cooperation with the Municipality. It contains 60 bins and has successful results.
Main objectives – issues to be addressed: - the creation and development of Quarter Networks for composting of urban organic waste - the creation of environmental awareness among urban residents
Expected results: - Re-use urban organic waste through composting it - Reduce the total quantity of urban waste - Reduce the cost of urban waste management
