FAICO is officially qualified as Support Center for Technological Innovation by the Spanish Ministry for Economy and Competitiveness, and as Innovation and Technology Centre by the Andalusian Administration.

Titre du projet: VIRTUAL 3D VALORIZATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE
Description du projet : The project focuses on the valorization of common cultural heritage in danger of disappearance in the Mediterranean Sea Basin. It’s well-known that there are hundreds of artworks in danger due to several reasons: armed conflicts and war, earthquakes and other natural disasters, pollution, uncontrolled tourist development, etc. Unfortunately, the disappearance of major artworks constitutes a real problem in many countries of the Mediterranean Sea Basin, and consequently a real threat to the cultural dialogue and local governance of the affected regions. The project aims at preserving major cultural heritage of the participating countries with the support of advanced ICT tools, 3D digitizing technologies and the cooperation of cultural organizations specializing in cultural heritage preservation. 3D technologies offer the opportunity to capture digital representations of the heritage objects, and these digital copies can be used for preservation, restoration, access, and scholarly study.
