The cultural industry and the cooperation for development as strategy for the generation of economic activity and employment

Brief description of the project: Culture constitutes the engine of the sustainable human development in accordance with the SDG. Culture contributes to development thanks to the growth of the creative economy in general and, particularly, to cultural and creative industries where not only economic value is generated but social benefits as well. The initiatives from the creative economy increase the opportunities for people and strengthen their capacities, playing a decisive role for a social and economic development. The project intends to support the creation and the strengthening of the competitiveness of small businesses, especially the innovative euro-Mediterranean value chains in the cultural and creative industrial sector which may have direct impacts in new potential employments and opportunities that may stimulate the socioeconomic development of the target cooperation area. Some activities will be intended for vulnerable target groups, such as youth and women, contributing to guarantee a fair process
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: To foster activities going more deeply into the relationship between development and culture To generate discussion and exchange forums and networking among actors from local development and culture, encouraging innovation and knowledge transfer To create conditions for the starting of cultural enterprising initiatives, especially among youth and women To develop social inclusion actions from social intervention To identify and transfer best practices among project partners
Résultats attendus: Established a Platform for the co-development in the cultural and creative industrial sector Analyzed the project situation through a research study Implemented two euro-Mediterranean cultural activities to increase the interest of local governments and citizenship and guaranteeing project sustainability Increased the knowledge and skills through capacity building programs Supported enterprising initiatives through patronage and mentoring actions
