Brief description of the project: The control of power consumption is an important part of the operating costs of an organization. It contributes also to the control of pollutants and environmental impacts on the atmosphere and quality of life. Recent studies indicates a high potential for energy saving and reduction of pollutants by improving the energy footprint of public buildings across Europe. Worldwide, there exist several applications towards this direction, covering a variety of types of buildings and infrastructure. In the context of the current economic and environmental situation and several up-to-date studies, it is important for the Public Sector to implement such appropriate actions for energy management of building and lighting infrastructures with a view to: • Achieve the minimum energy consumption • Protect, in medium term, the urban environment • Improve the work conditions • Sensitize public, public servants and students • Develop effective sustainable energy micro-implementation activities
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: The main aim of the proposed project will be to provide the framework to empower public authorities on cross-border cooperation, around the external borders of the European Union, under the European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI), to develop, finance and implement sustainable energy policies and plans for public infrastructure and buildings, in the basis of past best practices and reliable data and analyses.
Résultats attendus: • Enhanced capacity of public institutions of the partners areas, to plan and implement sustainable energy policies and measures with regard to public buildings • Reduced and cleaner energy consumption in public buildings through the use of renewable energy measures and energy saving interventions
