Brief description of the project: Improving the quality of the environment is needed to promote tourism at remote areas. Sustainable management of water resources is urgent because of the limited fresh, clean water supply at those areas. A good management system is needed for environmental auditing of water resources by considering of the health, social and economic aspects. This will identify the most environmental problems, advancing the use of non-conventional water resources (NCWRs) in order to secure water availability, climate change adaptation and mitigation. The project will adapt a pilot model in sewage water treatment through anaerobic fermentation and methanogenesis utilizing municipal solid waste such as food waste and other organic materials for energy production. The model can be repeated at other locations.
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: Reduce the negative effects on environment- develop new technology - develop new green jobs - produce renewable energy and clean water . Integrated management of water resources through an appropriate technologies for the sustainability of tourism at remote areas.
Résultats attendus: Reduce municipal water consumption in resorts. Non-traditional water resources - energy generation - increase in the number of tourists - a pilot model for the treatment of sludge and waste of food for energy generation – Environmental criteria for sustainable tourism - maximize utilization of natural resources - an applicable model in tourism remote areas.
