Brief description of the project: Sustainable tourism actions are needed, based on cultural assets and creative industries. Common challenges: - Cultural Heritage assets as valuable treasures that can be effectively redeployed for cultural & creative tourism. - Tourism potential of these assets may facilitate the preservation & restoration efforts, if performed with sustainability. - Innovation can contribute greatly towards enhancing cultural heritage assets use for sustainable tourism. Main outputs are tourism development plans, with implementation & monitoring in ENI CBC MED destinations, communication & dissemination tools for capacity building The transnational approach involves best practices & knowledge transfer, combined with pilot actions on immaterial heritage, creative industries, interpretation and digitisation, with an integrated & coordinated framework for cultural and creative tourism, leading to resilience of tourism in the MED area.
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: The overall objective of the proposed project is to redeploy cultural and heritage assets for the development and promotion of innovative sustainable and responsible tourism, with emphasis on immaterial cultural heritage and creative industries, through exchange and capitalisation of best practices, pilot applications and capacity building, towards an integrated and coordinated strategy for sustainable cultural and creative tourism development and promotion in the ENI CBC MED area.
Résultats attendus: Expected changes are in common strategies for ENI CBC MED destinations, advances in policy implementation, upgrading of cultural assets & innovative applications with synergies with cultural and creative industries.
