Solar Obligations (SOs), sometimes also defined as “Ordinances”, are legal provisions requiring the installation of solar systems to cover a fraction of new or renovated buildings’ energy demand (for hot water and/or heating, or for electricity). This document analyses and compares SOs from different countries all around the world in order to identify success factors and recommendations to guide the development of effectively operating SOs in Mediterranean Partner Countries.
