Community Based Ecotourism For Sustainable Livelihood in the med region

Priority: Priority B.4.1 Support sustainable initiatives aimed at finding innovative and technological solutions to increase water efficiency and encourage use of non-conventional water supply
Brief description of the project: Ecotourism is responsible travel to fragile, pristine, and usually protected areas that strive to be low impact and (often) small scale. Today “Green” should no longer be just a trend but it should be a way of life,creating an accessible community based ecotourism “an adventure camps from the ocean to the mountains; anything nature in general, anything outdoors in different mediterranean destnations will not only enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the destination but also provide sustainable livelihood and incomes generation opportunities to the local in rural areas. The Community-based is structured like a cooperative; the members have varying roles in: hotel and/or room accommodation, food, crafts, and transportation or guide services, among others. More importantly, the financial benefits of this business model are shared throughout the community.
Main objectives – issues to be addressed: -Off-season visitors number -Lack of promotion of the ecotourism using advanced technology -Marginalized sectors of society
Expected results: Marketing and promotion (MAP) helps increase the number of visitors while gaining more tourism business and profits. highlighting the uniqueness and assisting the development of ecotourism products and services, with the end in view of increasing tourist arrivals and tourism investment using the community based ecotourism web page Increased access to the tourism value chain to more poor people, thus creating new entrants
