Creating a common cultural and tourist route based on the Hercules Labours in the Mediterranean Sea Basin

Priority: Priority A.1.1 Support innovative start-ups and recently established enterprises, with a particular focus on young and women entrepreneurs, and facilitate the protection of their intellectual property rights and commercialisation where applicable
Brief description of the project: The development of a touristic and cultural route can create a global tourism product that will support the tourism and economic development of the Mediterranean. This entire historic route, infrastructure, emblematic buildings, economic boom, as well as the cooperation between the countries, should be imprinted, take concrete form and attribute to a cultural, social and economic level (tourism). In the context of implementing the Tourist and Cultural Route “Labours of Hercules”, a new cultural – tourist product should be created, which will highlight the cross-border area and be able to offer modern services to tourists.
Main objectives – issues to be addressed: • Utilization of the Route for the benefit of local economies. Creation of synergies between tourism, cultural heritage and sustainable development. • Promotion and development through cultural activities. • Strengthening of thematic tourism and the related SME’s. etc
Expected results: The establishment of an administrative form, in cooperation with the managing body of the route " Labours of Hercules " Implementing effective continuing activities associated with the region that will aim at wide dissemination and promotion of cultural products Restoring and enhancing the local image and also the interest and appreciation for local culture and traditions Development or commercial promotion of products related to the route etc
