Priority: Priority A.1.1 Support innovative start-ups and recently established enterprises, with a particular focus on young and women entrepreneurs, and facilitate the protection of their intellectual property rights and commercialisation where applicable
Brief description of the project: The project aims at bringing in social and economic empowerment of marginalized rural women in Lebanon, through building skills, organizations, networking and access to market. The main objective is to promote the socio-economic empowerment and development of vulnerable rural women in Lebanon.
Main objectives – issues to be addressed: To contribute to promoting the sustainable and harmonious cooperation process among women by addressing the common challenges and enhancing women’s potential. To promote socio-economic development through specialized trainings skills building and market access and technical inputs.
Expected results: Local rural women organized in cooperatives, youth groups and their communities will become economically empowered through skills, knowledge and alliances built throughout the process. This economical empowerment will transform the target beneficiaries from being recipients of humanitarian assistance to providers of income for their own families, thus enabling them to sustain their livelihoods in the long term and in an independent way.
