Brief description of the project: The Experimental Center for Sustainable Tourism (ECST) will offer four essential services: (1) planning, (2) training and capacity building, (3) technical assistance, and (4) networking
Main objectives – issues to be addressed: • • Increase the productivity of the tourism industry by training new entrants in the labor market, in workforce skills required by industry and placing them in tourism jobs, • Enhance support for sustainable tourism activities and relevant capacity-building in the region • Encourage the promotion of investment in sustainable tourism, • Serve as an incubator for Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs and Provide Management Services to small and medium-sized Local tourism Businesses
Expected results: • Strengthened tourism competitiveness and ability of SMEs, by more startups, more innovative ideas and more courageous entrepreneurs. • Improved responsible tourism offer and access to the target marginal areas • Reduction of the seasonality phenomenon • The use of new methods and tools for the promotion of traditional products and tourism products • Local communities more aware and active about the benefits related to the valorisation and protection of natural and cultural heritage
