PV-storage-DSM solutions for cost-effective high RES penetration and increased energy savings in public buildings
Thematic objective: B.4 Environmental protection, climate change adaptation and mitigation
Priority: Priority B.4.1 Support sustainable initiatives aimed at finding innovative and technological solutions to increase water efficiency and encourage use of non-conventional water supply
Brief description of the project: The specific interventions to be implemented will target to make the buildings involved green(er), innovative, smart, and sustainable, mainly in terms of electricity consumption and generation. Two to three pilot demonstration sites will be implemented in each participating country (3 EU & 3 MENA partner countries), targeting to test different types of public buildings and in a range of climatic zones.
Main objectives – issues to be addressed: The project aims to develop, test and implement cross-border pilot measures and solutions to support innovative and cost-effective energy rehabilitations in public buildings which can act as the building block for long-term energy-saving behaviour of their primary users.
Expected results: The project is expected to result in a substantial decrease in energy consumption in the pilot buildings and thus a decrease in GHG emissions, as well as in an increase in the energy- and environmental- consciousness of the users. This project could also contribute to generating good practice recommendations for energy efficiency indicators for public buildings as well as recommendations to energy authorities.
