AGREENMED PROJECT - For a Smart and Sustainable Agriculture based on Clean Technologies

Brève description du projet : Agriculture is a key economic sector in all the Mediterranean area, whose business system is mostly made up of SMEs that encounter difficulties to invest in innovation, therefore hampering the full exploitation of all the potential offered by agriculture in our territories. Furthermore, nowadays the agriculture and agribusiness sectors must also face one important challenge: to keep on growing on the basis of sustainable development, applying environmentally friendly techniques/procedures. Thus the importance of clean technologies in this sector (biological control, renewable energies, harmless desinfection techniques, energy-saving methodologies …).
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: The AGREENMED project is based on the assumption that clean technologies can undoubtedly represent a real growth driver for agriculture and agribusiness entreprises located in the MED area. Therefore, it aims to close the gap between research and industry and to establish public mechanisms to promote the tranfer and adoption of green technologies.
Résultats attendus: The Project would result in establishing a solid cooperation platform at the MED area so that MED entreprises become competitive through application of new production techniques leading them to differentiation, productivity gains and sustainable development.
