Brève description du projet : Tourism is a sector of vital importance for the economy of the territories included in the Cooperation Space of ENI CBC MED. In most cases it contributes significantly to local development, representing the main source of wealth generation and employment for the populations. In any case, the tourism model of these territories is not always sustainable and is mostly based on a mass tourism that is highly seasonal and limited to destinations related to coastal zones. In this sense, the rich biodiversity of the area of cooperation, the existence of unemployment, the need to seasonalise and diversify tourism supply, strengthening the business sector and the desirability of promoting the sustainable valuation of the rich natural heritage are factors that determine the appropriateness of undertaking an initiative such as ECOBIRD.
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: Encourage the development of ecotourism based on bird watching
Résultats attendus: Touristic and sustainable valorization of the natural heritage. Diversification of the touristic offer. Development of a transnational model of sustainable tourism planning.
