Brève description du projet : Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources promotion is a key factor to achieve a sustainable and inclusive growth in the ENI area. Local authorities (LAs) have a key role in renewable energy and energy efficiency promotion, since they mostly regulate or co-regulate at local level many GHG intensive sectors (residential sectors, etc.) as well as because they own and/or manage a large stock of public buildings.
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: The project aims at promoting cost-effective, market-based and innovative local policies for energy efficiency in (public) building sector, within the framework of high quality Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans carried out in accordance with CoM.
Résultats attendus: The project will collect and describe technical, legal/normative and financing schemes best practices related to EE and carried out in EUMCs as well as in MPCs mainly in the framework of the CoM plans. Such best practices will be tested in pilot municipalities from EUMCs and MPCs. The results of the testing will be systematized and capitalized, engaging all stakeholders, focusing on CoM coordinators and associated parterns as well as other actors in charge of EE plans and policies.

Partenaires recherchés: Institutions, companies or organizations in the energy efficiency sector from the eligible regions of Jordan and Tunisia, preferably having experience or at least knowledge of the Covenant of Mayors for climate and energy.
