Brève description du projet : The project aims at enhancing the concept of green growth in public spaces in order to improve urban resilience and mitigation to climate impacts, since studies show that a properly designed landscape can make a home significantly more energy efficient and cut heating and cooling bills by as much as 40 percent. The idea is to set up building energy afficiency and urban heat island assessment information modelling and mapping, so as to identify the most critical areas and buildings. Once assessment is completed, then a series of interventions could be suggested through landscape and green growth guidelines.
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: We would like to respond to pressures caused by rising temperatures in cities through green growth. Trees have direct and indirect benefits for cooling buildings and reducing human suffering during heat waves. Main goal of the project is to implement modelling systems, define and test guidelines to provide the framework to empower public authorities to develop, finance and implement plans for green growth.
Résultats attendus: - Enhanced capacity of public institutions and practitioners to plan and implement sustainable public spaces to mitigate climate impact - Reduced and cleaner energy consumption in public buildings through green growth energy saving interventions
Partenaires déjà impliqués: open dialogue with Local public authorities in Italy, information modelling SMEs, italian NGOs with experience in Energy monitoring and control.
Partenaires recherchés: Regional, Local and other public authorities that are owners or users of spaces and buildings' surroundings for pilot use. - Bodies responsible for policies and activities related with energy consumption control. - Agencies, SMEs or Universities, Training centres, NGOs with experience in Energy monitoring and control in participating countries
