SMART-on-SEA
Objectif thématique: A.2 Soutien à l’éducation, à la recherche, au développement technologique et à l’innovation
Priorité: Priorité A.2.2 Supporter les PME dans l'accès à la recherche et à l'innovation, notamment au moyen du regroupement d’entreprises (clustering)
Brève description du projet : Lately, there is a growing interest on behalf of the EU regarding the potentialities of the seas for innovation and growth and a lot of research has been done, focusing on promising sea uses, biotechnologies as well as on a more ecosystem-based management. Although this knowledge is totally necessary for private sector actors and especially the SMEs of the maritime economy sectors– developing activities either in the sea or in the coasts - no effective know-how transmission has taken place so far. However, apart from being business-ready, SMEs will also have to take part in the decision making of Maritime Spatial Plans, which are highly prioritized by the EU and totally affecting their business plans. To support the access of SMEs in research and innovation, a three-fold engagement strategy will be developed including : 1. VLE based Training 2. Development of supporting Web and mobile application based tools 3. Capacity building including Clustering and Crowd-solving methods.
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: The project aims to assist the transmission of the existing knowledge regarding the future trends in the Mediterranean Sea and to disseminate research results in a systematic and innovative way, to businesses and especially SMEs (such as coastal SMEs, touristic SMEs, transport SMEs, aquaculture SMEs etc).
Résultats attendus: Access of SMEs to research and innovation related to blue growth and maritime spatial planning, will permit them to follow an adaptation strategy in order to be prepared against potential hazards deriving from sea uses and maritime activities and mainly seize new business opportunities by creating synergies and avoiding conflicts with other actors. The project will promote,in parallel,transboudary MSP and harmonisation of data and applications between neighbouring mediterranean countries.
