SSE-LED - Social and Solidarity Economy on the Sustainable Local Economic Development of Gaza

Brève description du projet : Palestinian Territories, in particular Gaza strip is suffering from chronic deterioration in socio – economic aspects. The economy of Gaza – assailed by three rounds of destructive, on-going blockade imposed on Gaza since 2007, and the political division between Gaza and the West Bank since 2005 – has reached the verge of collapse, with the strip suffering some of the highest rates of unemployment in the world. Traditional economic development approaches – which applied top-down approach struggles to account for the unique Gazan context, and have failed to deliver significant gains.
Objectifs principaux – problèmes à traiter: 1. Given the EU partners experience, the project contribute to the establishment of the theoretical and practical bases for the development of SSE as an input to Local Economic Development within the framework of Gaza economy. 2. Develop tools that promote the strategic, successful, dynamic, partnerships benefiting the social and solidarity economy, particularly those leading to the development of public policies.
Résultats attendus: •Effective Strategic plan of SSE-LED that promote public policies regarding the social inclusion, poverty alleviation, business associations, civic voice, enabling environment networking, etc.
